I finally got a new wallet.
It was this years find from Stoneydown Park Folk Festival.
Last year I got a cupboard. What will I get next year?

cold lunch with books
It is hot in London. I had cold tomato soup and a cold feta pie for lunch. I am reading N.S. Naipauls Half a life. Usually my reading is not this intellectual. It is in Finnish, I love simply to read and understand without rethinking the words.
Here are some other good books I have come across lately. Alice Walkers In Search of Our Mothers´ Garden interests me in two ways: I read it as a history of American culture, but also as a voice for those who don´t get to tell the story. As an immigrant, I identify with the search to express ones background in a culture dominated by the views of others. I saw Robert Mapletorphes exhibition in Finland and bought Patti Smiths book Just Kids from the museum shop. She writes magically about being an artist and following ones calling. Tracy Chevaliers Remarkable Creatures is another book about calling. It was light to read with views to the English country side. The book made me want to go to National History Museum to see Mary Annings dinosaurs again.

summer
Every morning
I put sun cream on and fill the bottles with water.
I walk stones grunching under my sandals.
I remember endless summers in the past.
I smell the asphalt.
I have too many dresses to choose from.
Summer makes me restless.
Light makes me feel that I can go on
without rest, without sleep.
All that expectation of lazy nothing builds inside of me.

tea with kids
Our friends from Finland came over.
They wanted to do Afternoon Tea with Kids.
We arrived to St. Ermin´s Hotel.
I got scared how it would go.
It went great.
Key to succes was
giving kids the camera to recort the event.
St. Ermin´s had a beehive at their rooftop.
Art in Walthamstow
I went to see the exhibitions at the Vestry House
for the annual Art Trail of Walthamstow.
Simply beautiful was Della Reeses True Colour.
Matt Taylors See what you missed exhibitions Out of Stock.
Mark Burtons photograps from Poland to Waltham Forrest
were speaking to me as a newcomer to Walthamstow and to England.

Beautiful stranger Helsinki
We were a week in Helsinki.
I felt like a tourist with little to connect me to this city.
I got nostalgic about people in their shell suits and E Grön singing.
Highlight of my trip was talking art
and working on our art project with a good friend.
Beautiful stranger, Helsinki,
left me with a Lost in Translation feeling of disconnection.

homey
I have been two weeks now at home. There were things I needed to do, like the garden,
but also I did not want to go anywhere.
I got flowers from our garden for Mother´s Day.
Our postcard art exhibition is standing on the mantelpiece, St Michaels Church and Richard Diebenkorns Seawall 1957.
My flowers are growing on the windowsill.
