on the locks

We went by bike to the Ballard Locks (Hiram M Chittenden Locks) It was a crisp and cold morning so  my son wore his grandpas old woolly. We where very impressed by the locks and how they worked. There was this big ship with a crane for wood going by as we where there. I biked almost an hour and a half back home. My son slept all the way.

from our window

It is sunny in Seattle. For the first time we can see Mt. Rainier from our window.
I am taking my bike and heading for Ballard to look at the Locks.

Thanksgiving dinner

We went with our bikes to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. There was a lot of shoreline to be seen on the way. I took pictures of the house boats and we wondered how it would be to live in one.
On the way we met some really friendly people with bikes. They invited us to join their ride and we went to a park with them. They where Seattle Family bikers, a FB group that bikes together to do fun stuff. Boys played tag with them and had lots of fun. We joined the group in FB when we got home and are looking forward to new excursions.
This is my first picture of Space Needle here in Seattle. Our restaurant was at Chandler´s Cove. We had beautiful view from our table. We really liked the soups in Chandler´s and turkey tasted like ham. My son only ate bread and smashed potatoes. He has a culture shock every time we go to a restaurant and refuses to eat anything. So we took it easy and let him has his will. My dessert pumpkin pie was a new taste. I would like to have some more.

home number 3

Here is our view. I like that we see over the roofs of everybody else. We are living in total suburbia. This is my favorite corner of our home. I can see if somebody is coming from the window. In the evening  I can light the lamp, sit and read.
We have at our house Chinese decorations and lamps. My favorite picture is this with a man and a dove (a hawk?) . I like the lamps here because they are so light and simple. All in all I am very pleased the way our new home looks like.

jet lag

We arrived here on Monday. Everything was new and we wanted to sleep during the day and could not sleep at night. My son was the best of us getting over jet lag. I stayed up and wondered his sleeping talent. It was beautiful weather here the first days. Now it´s back to normal Seattle weather, rain rain rain.
