In the North

 Breathing in the North.
The train took us north trough the wide landscapes of England.
There were narrow streets to explore
 in Durham.
A summer day is for drinking tea at the botanical garden.
In the shade.
Feeling of space like never in London.
Cragside is a realife Downton Abbey.
The country house is as modern
as the 19th century can get.
The forrest garden is a perfect place for building huts.

how to define home

It is not always easy to define home.
Sometimes it feels like the gates to home are closed.
Home is the space I am taking in the world.
I have been thinking about home lately
and I have now two art works
at the Mills summer exhibition "Home" here in Walthamstow.

nature near me

my guilty pleasure

I have been waiting for this the whole year.
I sit in my garden warmed by the sun.
I have washed the duvets.
I am reading light and having tea.
 The bliss of domesticity!

sushi salad for my son

It is just me and my son this week at home. We are eating things that my husband would not consider dinner. We have had pancakes and this lovely sushi salad. Today we are having hummus and raw vegetables.

Traveling memories

The forrest at the Stockholm Airport
makes me think of all the times I was leaving
and at the same time it whispers me home.
I was invited to a beautiful wedding in Stockholm.
For me it was remembering again who I had been once,
a little sister in another language.
Lilac was blooming outside my friends house in Cambridge when I visited her.
I took no pictures of them, just this lilac bush to take as a memory.
Another memory connected to lilac is my granparents house in Finland.

rainy

It has been rainy, rainy rainy.
I made a wreath for my friend on her birthday.
We had a rainy pickinc in the park.
I have spotted some turquoise colour on my walks.
Wet weather has turned me into a card maker.

Rain did not stop us from enjoying the party. The children were wonderfully muddy afterwards.
