bug zoo
We visited the Bug Zoo in Victoria. It was small, just the right size for us. My son got to hold a stick insect. I did not dare. We got worried when we saw a ant at loose there. The staff ensured us that it was ok, if just one was loose.

where home is
In Kanada I loved the English feel, being closer to Europe. There where tea houses and book stores, with book covers I could understand. Boring and intelligent books looked plain and romantic novels where pink. People spoke really clear English and they understood what I was saying. Coming back to Seattle felt familiar and felt like coming home. I loved the lights of a big city and seeing different looking people all riding the same bus with us. I felt Seattle is a good place to live with my family.
I saw a dream being back in Finland. It was snowing. When I woke up I was home sick for Finland. We discussed with my son about who we are. He wanted to be just Finnish and I tired to convince him that being at least Seattleite if not American is kind of cool. I compared being both Finnish and Seattleite to being able to choose between being Batman or Superman.
Summer house of H
Our landlord H was kind to lent us her apartment in Victoria, Kanada. My husband thought that the best part of the vacation was the apartment. It had a magnificent view, lots of books and artifacts to explore.
Summer house sounded like this Emily Carr house. But summer house of H was a apartment building with a sauna and a swimming pool, much more convenient. My husband and son swam every day and I got to wonder beautiful houses on the area.

zoo
We went with my bike to the Woodland Zoo on a sunny day.
Was it us watching the animals, or the animals watching us?
Some hot cocoa!
